In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half sister, Gertrude Teets of Oakland, Md. For 19 years, Wiley was involved with the Akron Quarter Midget Association. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers, as well as Ohio State football and basketball. Wiley was an avid handball player for over 35 years. Later he worked nine years as VP of Oxycon Inc. He then attended The University of Akron and graduated in 1950 with a BA in Mechanical Engineering. Army and finished his enlistment in 1946. In 1936 Wiley moved to Tallmadge and graduated from Tallmadge High School. Wiley was born in Akron on Septemto the late Wiley Smith and Emma Phillips Smith. Wiley Smith, Jr., 84, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away November 18, 2011.
